Anekanta® Signs the EU AI Pact, Reinforcing its Commitment to AI Regulation

Press Release

Press Release – 20th November 2024. Anekanta®AI a leader in AI risk management, is proud to announce its official signing of the European Commission’s Artificial Intelligence Office AI Pact. This pledge underscores our dedication to developing and deploying artificial intelligence in a trustworthy, ethical, and transparent manner.

The AI Pact, a cornerstone of the EU’s efforts to establish robust guidelines for AI governance, invites companies to align with key principles of the proposed AI Act during the transition period. By joining this initiative, Anekanta®AI reinforces its commitment to shaping an AI ecosystem that maximises AI benefits and prioritises human rights, safety, and accountability.

“Our decision to sign the AI Pact reflects our belief that responsible AI is not just an ethical imperative but a business-critical commitment,” said Pauline Norstrom, CEO at Anekanta®AI. “As AI becomes increasingly embedded in our everyday lives, organisations like Anekanta®AI must lead the way in fostering a culture of accountability and trustworthiness.”

Anekanta®AI’s approach to Responsible AI, including our proprietary AI Risk Intelligence Framework, and AI Governace Framework for Boards have consistently set a benchmark for addressing risks in sensitive areas like biometric inference and decision-making transparency. This commitment to proactive risk management and human oversight aligns seamlessly with the AI Pact’s guiding principles.

By signing the Pact, Anekanta®AI pledges to:

  • adopt an AI governance strategy to foster the uptake of AI in the organisation and
  • work towards future compliance with the AI Act;
  • carry out to the extent feasible a mapping of AI systems provided or deployed in areas that would be
    considered high-risk under the AI Act;
  • promote awareness and AI literacy of their staff and other persons dealing with AI systems on their
    behalf, taking into account their technical knowledge, experience, education and training and the
    context the AI systems are to be used in, and considering the persons or groups of persons affected
    by the use of the AI systems

As a signatory, Anekanta®AI will actively engage with other industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to ensure the responsible evolution of AI technologies. This step not only enhances our own practices but also strengthens our ability to support clients navigating the complexities of AI risk, governance and compliance.
